The Consul's House

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

THIS PROJECT WAS FEATURED AT

After leaving the official residence, the former French consul in Brazil decided to stay in the country and set up her new home full of history and art. Alexandra Loras shows her new home in São Paulo by our studio for Casa Vogue Magazine

With a keen eye and the repertoire of those who have lived in eight countries – and passed through many others – this French woman who gained notoriety in Brazil for her work in combating racism and in favor of diversity, set up her second home

In the living room, the pop items from Alexandra’s collection also blend with modern and sober design furniture, such as the sofa by our Studio and Breton’s Doop bench. The mix of decoration is completed by Renaissance paintings and patterns from the exhibition The Little Black Jacket, by Karl Lagerfeld.

In the couple’s suite, sophisticated items, such as Baccarat lamps, share space with a headboard made of demolition wood and photos brought from one of the trips the couple made to Morocco, on Damian’s 40th birthday.

“The photos are postcards that were sent to seduce the French to go to Morocco at the time of colonization”, explains Alexandra, who has a special interest in history.

“Brazil gave me a stage for me to try to be the best version of myself. In a way, I saw that my quality of life and what I could develop here was more important than a career, and my husband understood and that is why we decided that the best thing for our family was to stay ”. We, who had the chance to have our structures shaken by Alexandra Loras, can only be grateful. Merci!
